Coming from the direction of Amersham/Chesham/A41
From A416 running between Amersham through Chesham to the A41, on the outskirts of Amersham turn left (from Amersham direction) or right (from Chesham/A41 direction) along Copperkins Road at a mini-roundabout (at the top of the hill leading up from/down to Chesham). When you come to a T junction, turn left towards Hyde Heath and Great Missenden. An alternative route to reach Hyde Heath, is to go along the A 413 towards Great Missenden turning right off the dual carriage-way signposted Chesham and Hyde Heath. After about a mile you would then turn left at a T junction joining the other route.
Continue through the village of Hyde Heath until you come to a T junction where you turn left towards Great Missenden on the B485. After about half a mile turn right at Annie Bailey's Restaurant and Bar into King's Lane, sign posted to South Heath, Ballinger and The Lee. At the next cross roads, go straight across towards The Lee, along Potters Row. You will shortly come to the village centre. Follow the road, bearing left around the village green. The church is on the left within about 20 yards after the green.
There is a little indentation for parking just before the gates of the church, St John the Baptist. If there is no parking in the little indentation, go back to the village centre and park by the green along the road which leads to the pub, the Cock and Rabbit. The new church is a red brick building with a path on its left. Walk on along the path, past the new church, St John the Baptist, for a further 100 yards and The Lee Old Church will be on your right.
Coming from the direction of Aylesbury
Coming along the A413 Aylesbury to Amersham in the direction of Amersham, drive along Wendover bypass. Beyond Wendover look out for a sign on the left to King’s Ash. It is just by a Jet petrol garage.
Drive up this road past fields and trees and a few houses and past The Gate Pub on the right until you reach a cross road (unmarked but the first one). Turn right here. As you turn right you will see a house on the left with red shutters. Follow this road (not far) until it bends to the left – there is a big property on the right of the bend with lots of converted barns. The church is just a little further along on the right hand side. Park anywhere around the village green. Go down the church path past the first church, St John the Baptist, until you come to the tiny, white painted 12th century church.
Comfort Stop!
There is a outside loo (clean!) in an outbuilding to the left of the path, about 5 yards from the door into The Lee Old Church.
